Palladium Membrane Reactor (PMR) Prototype

The Palladium Membrane Reactor (PMR) is a stainless-steel specialty component consisting of a vacuum jacketed ASME code compliant vessel which contains palladium-silver tubes in close contact with low chloride platinum on alumina catalyst. Normally operated at elevated temperatures (400C), the PMR catalyst reacts with the impurities and provides sufficient conditions to remove chemically bound hydrogen isotopes from a mixture of gases and achieves sufficient permeation rates through the Pd/Ag tubes to separate the hydrogen isotopes from the gas stream.
